How the sorting works

What it actually does

It organises a list you already have. It sorts what you wrote into what can be started now, what is waiting on something else, and what someone else could do on your behalf. That is the whole of it.

Concretely, it does three things:

1. It splits what you wrote into separate items. Line breaks, bullets, numbering and commas, nothing cleverer.
2. It reads the shape of each item. Whether you said something is waiting on something else — and if so, it repeats back what you said it is waiting on, without ever telling you how to get that. And whether the wording describes an errand that does not need you personally to be the one doing it.
3. It writes the sheet. The right-hand column, laid out with room for you to say what each thing involves and what to take along.

Where the sorting happens

The basic sort runs in your own browser, in the tab you are looking at. Nothing is sent anywhere for it. Where you choose to use the optional model-assisted sort, the text of your list is sent to a language model provider, which is contractually bound to use it only to answer that request. It is not retained by them, and it is never used for training — not theirs, and not ours.

The model is only ever asked to classify. It is not able to introduce an item, because the interface only ever displays strings taken from what you wrote.

Things this will never tell you

• Anything about time limits. It gives no deadline information of any kind, and it will not hurry you. There are no dates in it, nothing counts down, and nothing is marked as late.
• Anything about how to do something. No procedures, no required documents, no methods, for anywhere.
• Anything about wills, estates, inheritance, probate, tax, benefits, insurance or debts. Those are entirely outside its scope. They need a qualified adviser rather than a list. Where an item touches any of them, the service sets it aside, says so in one line, and asks you to find the right person. It does nothing else with it.
• Anything at all where what you write concerns cause of death, medical matters or examinations. There the service stops: no columns, no sheet, and a single line directing you to the official channels where you are.

It will get things wrong

It reads wording, and wording is not the same as your situation. It will put things on the wrong side of the line. That is expected, which is why every item can be moved across by hand — with a button, with the arrow keys, or by dragging — and why the arrangement you finish with is the one that counts, not the one it started with.

It also shows you, every time, a short list of the things it cannot know: the rules where you are, whether anything has a limit on it, what any organisation will actually ask for, and whether an item applies to you at all.

It never contacts you

There are no reminders, no notifications and no messages about your list. Ever. The only emails this service sends concern the subscription and payment, and they never mention a single item you wrote. The full line is drawn in section 8 of the terms.

Nothing about the person your list concerns

The service neither needs nor collects any information about the person your list concerns — no name, no date, no relationship, no address. There is no field for any of it. You can complete one full use without registering. What you write is never used for training, and you can erase it completely at any time. The privacy notice sets out the detail.

It recommends nothing

No service, product, organisation or individual is recommended, introduced or linked to anywhere in this service. There is no advertising, no affiliate link and no sponsored content on this site.
